Apple is testing a new AppMigrationKit framework in iOS 26.1, which allows you to transfer data from Android applications to iPhone.
Currently, you can only transfer calls, contacts, messages, photos, videos and WhatsApp conversations from Android to iPhone. Thanks to AppMigrationKit, additional applications can be added to this list if developers enable the options.
AppMigrationKit will work in tandem with the new downgrade Transfer to Android. After turning it on, the iPhone screen will display information about what data can be transferred to Android. A similar feature in Android 16 will be called Transfer to iPhone.
This framework is currently in beta. And while it’s available in iOS 26.1, there’s no confirmation that it’s officially coming with that release. system clearance. [9to5Mac]
