According to the test results, the M5 scored 199 points in Cinebench 2024, surpassing even the desktop Intel Core Ultra 9 285K (149) and AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D (140). The chip showed 4325 points in Geekbench 6, which is 13% higher than the M4 Pro.

Built using TSMC N3P process technology, the M5 processor received an updated memory controller with support for LPDDR5X-9600, a new 10-core GPU with Tensor accelerators and increased memory bandwidth up to 153 GB/s.

This made it possible to increase performance in games: in Baldur’s Gate 3 the laptop produces 74 FPS, and in Cyberpunk 2077 (FullHD) about 60 FPS.

While the increase in multi-core tasks was up to 17%, power consumption also increased to 27 W. Apple also doubled SSD speed and improved battery life, including up to 24 hours of video and 16 hours of web browsing.

ComputerBase editors noted that the MacBook Pro M5 combines record performance, autonomy and display quality while maintaining its distinctive design and compactness, naming it the best laptop for professionals of 2025.
