Who are Radiotechnika
If you come from the 80s or have at least once held a Soviet tape recorder in your hands, then the name Radiotekhnika will certainly evoke a little nostalgia.
Radiotekhnika” is the main manufacturer of audio equipment in the Soviet Union. Being at the forefront of scientific and technological progress, the company produced the country’s third audio equipment and actively introduced unique developments into production. Acoustic systems manufactured by Radiotekhnika were readily purchased not only in the USSR, but also in Germany, Finland, the USA and Australia.
In 2023, the brand was revived. Today Radiotekhnika is located at the confluence of historical monuments and a testing ground for modern electronic technologies: a team of experienced specialists integrate modern methods into working with classical audio.
Almost all modern models of the brand refer to classical forms and principles: wooden body, clear stage and honest sound.
The S-10 series is just from this new wave, we recently talked about it separately. The S-10NA is an option for those who want everything in one: amplifier, DAC, wireless connection and a minimum of wires.
The design is familiar, but nothing more is needed
Fits everywhere
These are compact speakers that are not disguised as gadgets, as everyone does now. Conventional rectangular MDF cases, finished with black ash film. No varnish, no shine. Everything is simple and calm.
When you take the speaker in your hands, you feel the weight of about 2.5 kg per piece. The walls are thick, the body is solid, without rattling. The corners are rounded, the chamfers are neat, the gaps are even. If placed next to your laptop or on a shelf near the TV, look appropriate.

There is a front removable fabric grill. Fits tightly and is easy to remove. Below it are two speakers: a 20mm soft dome tweeter and a main mid-woofer with a diameter of 108mm. Its diffuser is made of material POLYGLASS. This is when the paper base covers microparticles of glass. Such material resources and prestigious brands like Focal in their Hi-Fi systems.
The glass layer adds rigidity, making the sound deeper and more focused, and the mids clearer and more detailed. By ear you immediately think: the vocals do not “float”, and the guitars and drums sound lively and clear, as if the system was a higher class.
“Radio Engineering” does not hide the speakers behind decorative rings, and this is even better. It is clear that the acoustics are real and not a designer accessory.
The bass reflex has been stabilized at the rear. stand in it special plugswhich is rare for acoustic systems of this type. They allow you to place speakers close to the wall, and if space allows, place the speakers lower (you can just do it freely). You can remove these plugs for deeper bass.)
The kit includes an external 24 V power supply, which collects excess heat from the case and keeps the noise level low.
The case is assembled neatly. There is no feeling of “emptiness”, as in cheap desktop acoustics. When you move the speaker, you can hear that everything inside is securely fastened and nothing rattles. Even screws of this kind are recessed into the sockets, without distortion.

Everything is built in: an amplifier, a digital-to-analog converter, and even a phono stage for vinyl.
The main connectors are on the rear panel. There are not many of them, but enough to connect any equipment. Eat:
► optical input for TV or set-top box
► USB-C for using acoustics as an external sound card
► linear AUX input for regular minijack
► separate phono input with ground terminal
The latter was especially surprised. You can directly connect your turntable to it without an external preamp.
You can adjust the volume on the front
Built-in for wireless signal Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD support. That is, with normal sound that will not “shrink” to the quality of a messenger. The delay is minimal, video from the laptop goes without synchronization.
Pairing is simple: you attach the “Bluetooth connection” button on the back panel, connect from your smartphone and that’s it. Everything here works the same as with a regular Bluetooth speaker, so it’s not difficult to figure it out.
In addition, the columns have active subwoofer output. It makes it possible to upgrade the system to 2.1 if the bass becomes insufficient.
Management is implemented through remote controller: volume, source selection, basic sound presets. There are real differences between the modes, but without aggressive equalizers: rather easy adjustments to the content. The remote control is light, the plastic does not slip, the buttons are tight and pressed with precision.
There is no backlight or screens on the front panel, only a small indication of the operating mode.
The sound pleased me, I didn’t expect anything else

These speakers fully met expectations from the famous brand. They’re not perfect, but they’re nice.
Bass is dry and collected. He doesn’t try to type – rather he keeps the rhythm and emphasizes the blow. In electronic music, the lower frequencies are accepted, but all the music is not served into the mess.
Voice sounds natural. Male vocals are dense, female vocals do not hiss. In jazz, where there are a lot of cymbals and air, everything is readable, just without taking into account time. If we were to find fault, the top is a little lacking, but perhaps this was done intentionally.
The stage is not wide. If you turn the speakers slightly towards the listener, depth and air appear. The distance between them should be selected. A meter and a half will be just right.
Watching a movie is also comfortable, you can completely transform yourself into what is happening.
There are also weaknesses. On some tracks you can hear a slight “boxing”. If you place the speakers too close to each other, the stage shrinks to a point.
Worth paying attention
A worthy purchase not at an exorbitant price
Radio equipment S-10NA is a rare example of compact acoustics that has worked honestly 30 thousand rubles.
These speakers do not pretend to be the main link of the audio system. However, it is possible to replace an entire amplifier + speakers set in a small room.
Yes, they have limitations: the body is too small, the directivity is narrow, and the bass requires careful placement. It is whole and balanced.
