Based on some screenshots that have surfaced, it appears that Dell is working on a special kind of ddr5 strips for laptops. In the case of the unannounced Precision 7670 laptop, supposedly Compression Attached Memory Module (CAMM) DDR5 memory up to 128GB at 4,800 MT/s.
The product image shows that such a module replaces the two traditional sodims and makes room for other components. In any case, this will ensure that customers can only upgrade with other Dell CAMM products. It is also possible to solder a CAMM to the motherboard, eliminating upgrades.
In addition to memory, other features of the Precision 7670 are also discussed: under the hood is an Intel Alder HX processor with a TDP of 55 W, while graphics are provided by Team Blue or Nvidia. In terms of storage, there is talk of three m.2 slots with a total supported capacity of 12TB for PCIe 4.0 SSDs.
