Contrary to previous rumors, Samsung is not considering offering support for a built-in S Pen in the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4. According to Twitter user Ice Universe, the South Korean manufacturer is giving up the S Pen slot to make it foldable. The smartphone is thinner and smaller than its predecessor.

While the stylus cannot be stored on the device itself, it seems more likely that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 could be powered by a pin, just like the Z Fold 3. For example, leakster Mukul Sharma claims that Samsung has started production of an S Pen specifically for the new foldable. It’s also unclear what improvements have been made, as the exact specifications have not been disclosed.

Galaxy Z Fold 4 is expected to be released in August. In the next few months, we may see renders that will show that Samsung has not actually built an S Pen slot.
