A fire broke out at Ozon’s warehouse in New Riga, the company said. All employees have been evacuated.

“There was a fire in a separate block of the distribution center in New Riga, all employees were evacuated from the warehouse. Previously no one was injured, the information is being specified. Firefighters are working on the scene, ambulance services are on duty, ”the company’s press service told RB.RU.

Updated at 15:21 Moscow time: According to the General Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the number of people injured in the fire at the Ozon warehouse has increased to 11 people, two were hospitalized.

Important for sellers and buyers:

  • The company will cancel orders that are to go to buyers in New Riga.
  • Registration for deliveries to New Riga is also closed, the company requests to choose other warehouses.
  • Currently it is not possible to remove goods from the warehouse.
  • Acceptance of deliveries was canceled on August 3, the company will additionally inform about the time of its restoration.
  • Sellers are compensated for the cost of goods that are lost or damaged.

  • Buyers will receive money for missed orders. Products stored in compliance are currently hidden from the storefront in the market.

Shares of Ozon on the Moscow Stock Exchange fell 3.82% to 1,158.5 rubles per share amid a fire at the company’s warehouse in the Moscow region. As of 14:11 Moscow time, the company’s shares halted the decline to 0.25% and traded at the level of 1,201.5 rubles per share.

In total, Ozon has three warehouses in the Moscow region: Novaya Riga, Khorugvino and Pushkino.
