A new study assesses the risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease associated with meat consumption. Nearly 4,000 men and women over the age of 65 participated in the study. It turned out that higher consumption of red meat was associated with a higher risk of disease – 22% higher when eating about 1.1 servings per day.
It includes red meat, lamb, pork, veal and beef.
