The Quke.ru server found out which of the two smartphones is better to buy now: the Chinese OnePlus 10R or the Korean Samsung Galaxy A73 5G. Both devices belong to the “high-mid class”, that is, they lag a little behind the flagships in their characteristics.
The A73 is definitely more comfortable to hold in your hand due to its slightly rounded corners. As for the sound, you get stereo in both cases. Also, Samsung has an IP67 waterproof rating unlike OnePlus.
At the same time, the kit of the Galaxy A73 5G is much more modest than its rival. You only get a cable, a paper clip and documentation with the device. OnePlus 10R has a silicone case, cable, 160W power supply in the box.
The screen diagonal of both A73 5G and 10R is 6.7 inches, refresh rate is 120 Hz. But Samsung has Super AMOLED matrix while OnePlus has Flued AMOLED.
The processors installed in smartphones are very different. Samsung – on Snapdragon 778 (6/8 GB RAM), on OnePlus – Dimensity 8100 (8/12 GB RAM). Both smartphones run very fast with no lags and slowdowns. Simple games are fine too, but in more demanding games the 10R with a more powerful processor will do a little better. At the same time, most of the games are better optimized for Snapdragon.
As for the cameras, the front camera has a resolution of 16 MP for OnePlus and 32 MP for Samsung. The presenter liked the photos a little more on the A73. You can only shoot video with stabilization in 4K on the A73 and there is no stabilization on the OnePlus.
Samsung’s main camera block consists of four modules: the main module is 108 MP, wide-angle 12 MP, camera for portrait photos 5 MP, macro camera 5 MP. OnePlus has three lenses: 50MP main lens, 8MP wide-angle lens and 2MP telephoto lens. In both cases, video recording can be done in 4K with optical stabilization.
With good lighting, the pictures are of very close quality. However, OnePlus photos in automatic mode at night and in the evening come out a little better than the A73.
Coming to the video, the OnePlus expert liked the picture and autofocus in 4K more, but Samsung’s stabilization work.
Overall, according to the presenter, the OnePlus 10R showed itself slightly better in terms of photo and video capture.

In both cases, the battery capacity is 5000 mAh. Enough from both devices for at least a day’s work. However, it should be noted that Samsung’s maximum charging power is 25W, while OnePlus is 160W. So, the second charges with the fast charge function in just 17 minutes (without it – 26 minutes), and the first in 1.5 hours.
For the money, both smartphones are very good. However, of the two devices, the presenter would choose OnePlus as it is slightly more powerful, has a slightly longer battery life, charges much faster, takes slightly better photos, and is a little more interesting in terms of video recording.
