Companies from China, India and Belarus entered the list of leaders in the growth of transit flights through Russian airspace. The total volume of such flights has increased by 8% since January, Asian companies use flights through the Russian Federation as the shortest route for air transportation.
The Federal Air Transport Agency reported an increase in the volume of air transport through the airspace of the Russian Federation by foreign companies by 8% since January this year.
The main growth in transit traffic came from companies in China, India and Belarus. Russian airspace is most actively used by Chinese companies, which carry out 60 daily flights, Indian Air India with 20 daily flights and Belarusian Belavia with 16 daily flights.
The Federal Air Transport Agency has restricted transit flights through the airspace of the Russian Federation for airlines from 36 countries in response to sanctions banning Russian companies from civil air transport through European countries.
The Federal Air Transport Agency noted that they expect an increase in daily transit flights by companies from Asia and the Southeast region through the airspace of the Russian Federation in the summer.
