  • Rights holders in case of suspected infringement of intellectual property rights will be able to make appeals and independently verify ownership documents of the seller.
  • If the products are legally sold, after verification in the new Wildberries service, the fact of the absence of violations will be recorded.
  • If the seller does not provide the documents or if they are unreliable, the site will hide the products from the online storefront. If violations are repeated, the cooperation with said seller will be terminated.

The Wildberries press service noted that previous correspondence with potential infringers was conducted through their official channels and could take “a long time.” Now disputes can be resolved within a few days.

The right holder retains the right through the courts to recover from the seller compensation for the infringement of intellectual property rights. Correspondence through digital arbitration can be used in court.

  • In July, Vladislav Zaslavsky, head of the Department of Digital Product Marking System and Legalization of Product Invoicing at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that Wildberries were becoming a sales channel for counterfeit products.
  • Wildberries later responded that the information was not true and announced the development of an automated counterfeit detection system based on artificial intelligence.
