This Wednesday (20), iFood announces launch of Privacy Portal, a private channel present the company’s privacy practices and other related matters. According to the company, the purpose of the innovation is part of its commitment to create greater transparency and provide a personalized experience.

The Privacy Portal is open to all visitors to the iFood corporate page. As explained, information regarding the use of personal data will always be available in the Privacy Notices tab, which explains how the company obtains, stores, uses and shares user data.

“We believe your data belongs to you and the portal is an important step towards demonstrating our commitment to iFood’s privacy pillars (transparency, security, innovation and personalization), and we have compiled important information on how data is handled fairly,” said the iFood Privacy Program. Confidentiality and transparency

Rafaela Câmara, privacy coordinator and leader of the project that launched the portal, says the aim of the innovation is to offer transparency in an accessible language and show how data from users, suppliers and trading partners is used.

According to iFood, data provided by users and collaborators is used to improve and personalize the company’s products and services. The collection includes name, CPF (if applicable), email, shipping address, phone number, and dozens of other information.

“In addition to transparency, principles of innovation, security and personalization guide the use of data in improving our technology. An example is a new restaurant recommendation made from items on the user’s profile, which they usually order frequently,” he said.
