The new owners of the Russian Starbucks business opened (not for visitors) the chain’s first coffee shop on Novy Arbat and discussed development plans. Until the end of September, 120 Stars Coffee outlets will open, some establishments (not coffee shops) will sell alcohol.

The first “new” Starbucks opened: the owners talked about the plans

Anton Pinsky and Timur Yunusov (Timati) discussed the plans for the development of the Stars Coffee chain at a press conference dedicated to the opening of the first store on Novy Arbat. The opening was technical, the institution will begin receiving visitors on Friday, August 19.

Until the end of August, 10 cafes will open in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and another 120 outlets will open before the end of September. The new owners got 130 Starbucks outlets that left Russia, 90 of them in Moscow, 15 in St. Petersburg.

The cups will still have the customer’s name written on them, just as Starbucks did. Drinks (mainly coffee and its derivatives) will cost from 140 to 390 rubles. At some points (some cafes will be converted to restaurants) they will sell alcoholic beverages.

The new name of the former Starbucks was unveiled on August 17. They decided to call the Stars Coffee chain.
