Researchers at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health say that consuming three or more servings of low-fat dairy a day increases the risk of Parkinson’s disease.

The authors came to this conclusion after examining a large amount of data over a 25-year period. Surveys and health information from more than 80,000 women and 48,000 men were used. 1,036 participants were diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease during the study.

The researchers tried to find links by looking at the dairy products (from butter to milk to yogurt) that the participants consumed. It turned out that people who consumed at least three servings of low-fat dairy products a day were 34% more likely to develop Parkinson’s disease.
