Yandex has released DivKit, a framework that allows you to speed up mobile app development and update interfaces faster. He said so in a statement.
DivKit can be used as part of a server-driven UI approach, where the application interface is driven from the server. It is enough for the developer to describe the elements in a special format on the server, and the framework will convert this description into application elements, for several platforms at once.
The framework supports three main platforms: Android, iOS, and web. With it, you can change the appearance of the components or add something new: for example, a gallery or a likes counter.
The tool contains libraries for back-end development in Kotlin, TypeScript, and Python. “Yandex” ensures that the framework is easy to use and “you can get acquainted with it in just one or two hours.”
“It took us five years to develop this framework. It originated from the Yandex application team and is now involved in many services. The entire interface of the main screen of the Yandex application is based on it, it is used in the Ageil, Market, Alice, Yandex TV and other services,” said Ilya Bogin, head of the mobile development department.
DivKit source code is released on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 Open Source License.
