It has previously been suggested that having a brother can make girls more “typically feminine” and vice versa. Scientists set out to test this.
For the study, the authors collected a unique dataset by combining 12 large representative surveys covering nine countries on four continents. The result was a dataset of more than 85,000 individuals.
At the end of the analysis, it showed that the gender of the second child in the family did not affect the personality of the first.
