Member of the board of directors of the auditing and consulting network FinExpertiza Aghvan Mikaelyan warned Russians about the risks of investing in gold and real estate. In his opinion, now there is not a single absolutely reliable asset for investment, since in the leading countries there is a very high inflation and the crisis phenomena are intensifying.

Russians warned about the risks of investing in gold and real estate to save savings

Buying gold is a long-term investment. With short-term planning, investments in this precious metal are associated with high transaction costs, reports the Prime agency.

“In addition, gold prices have recently shown multidirectional dynamics, and no one can guarantee that the precious metal will be much less volatile compared to other assets,” the financier explained.

Another way to invest is in real estate. The Russians do not need to focus on the price increase that has been observed in the real estate market during the last two years in the country.

According to Mikayelyan, the domestic demand for real estate will start to stagnate in the context of a reduction in household income, and there will be more people willing to sell homes on the secondary market than those willing to buy them.

“And investments in real estate abroad for Russian citizens are becoming high-risk due to the special attention given to Russian investors abroad,” Mikaelyan added.

The specialist recommended that citizens who want to save their savings diversify their portfolio. At the same time, it is worth remembering that now that you have money in euros and dollars or in the assets of the respective countries, it is unlikely that it will be possible to increase savings; at best, inflationary losses can be preserved or minimized.
