It is a household appliance mixer that will allow you to mix and whisk products easily. Moreover, there are so many different models on the market that it becomes increasingly difficult to choose the right one among them.

Professional chefs and confectioners are also advised to purchase their own appliance for each culinary task. So, for blending and blending something, a mixer is best suited, not a blender or food processor.

Several parameters affect the cost and quality of the mixer.

  1. mixer type. There are three types of household mixers. They are fixed, manual and planetary. The most common is considered manual, but when mixing products you need to always hold them in hand, which is not always convenient. It also has small dimensions, so its power is quite small. Therefore, it is suitable only for the simplest kitchen work.

Stationary mixers are much larger than manual mixers and are already available on a dedicated platform. They also have more power. Planetary models are the same fixed models, but the principle of operation is slightly different. They can rotate the nozzle both around the center and around the axis, while the fixed ones can only rotate around the center. Most often, planetary mixers are purchased by professional chefs.

  1. Strength. The optimum power for hand mixers will be 350 watts, for stationary ones – at least 550 watts (although 400 watts is possible if you are mixing viscous products), for planetary ones – at least 700 watts. If you plan to use the mixer for several hours, it is better to buy a model with an extra 15-20% power reserve.
  1. Functionality and operating mode. Among the functions, speeds and their control are important. At the same time, operating modes are not available everywhere, if speeds can be found even in the cheapest mixer. In general, there are three main modes of operation: smooth (that is, a smooth increase in speed), turbo (operation at maximum power) and impulse. But the most important thing is that the device allows you to adjust the speed.

It is also important that the mixer is protected against overheating. It would be useful if the device was also equipped with a timer, a visual or audible indication.

  1. Equipment. You usually don’t get a lot of tools with a hand mixer. It’s a whisk and possibly a dough hook. In a set with a stationary mixer, you can cut meat, cut noodles, etc.
