The US government has banned the supply of powerful graphics processors to Russia and China, according to The New York Times.
First of all, this closure applies to Nvidia and AMD. Nvidia has confirmed that export packages are currently required to sell two types of high-performance chips that require server resources for processing data.
An AMD spokesperson said that these promotions will affect the purchase of GPUs in Russia, and China will greatly affect its business.
AMD cannot deliver the MI250 accelerator for servers and supercomputers to Russia and China. Nvidia said the detection was found in an A100 GPU distributed in an AI data center. [The New York Times]
