Alexander Govor, a businessman from Siberia, who bought the McDonald’s chain in Russia and opened the Vkusno-i Tochka outlets on its base, became interested in buying the Russian assets of the Finnish disposable tableware manufacturer Huhtamaki.

The owner of “Vkusno – i dotka” plans to buy the assets of the Finnish packaging company Huhtamaki

According to Reuters, Govor is willing to pay up to 151 million euros for them.

The publication claims that in order to acquire Huhtamaki’s Russian business, the businessman intends to obtain a loan from Sberbank and funds from Espentina Limited, a company registered in Cyprus.

Reuters sources believe that the money will be transferred through Russian LLC Club Hotel (owner of Vkusno, and that’s the point).

In April, Huhtamaki, which is positioned as the world’s leading manufacturer of disposable tableware and food packaging, announced its intention to close all operations in Russia and find buyers for its companies.

The company is present in 38 countries and is headquartered in Espoo, Finland. In Russia, Huhtamaki has production facilities in Tatarstan and the Moscow region.
