Thus, 292 million mobile devices were produced in the second quarter, 6% less than in the same period of 2021. This is due, among other things, to the fact that the warehouses of smartphone manufacturers are clogged with unsold products.

In turn, several factors have led to it, including the pandemic, which has disrupted supply chains.

For example, Samsung reportedly produced 61.8 million smartphones, which is 16.3% less than in the second quarter of last year. Oppo reduced its smartphone production by 4.2% and Xiaomi by 14.6%.

What this may lead to and whether it is worth waiting for a new crisis – only time will tell.
