The lawsuit against Elon Musk in the United States for the case of creating a crypto pyramid with Dogecoin has gathered new participants, reports Reuters.
It has now been joined by seven new investors adding six new defendants, including Elon Musk’s Boring Co., a builder of transportation tunnels.
In June, American Keith Johnson filed a lawsuit against Musk and his companies SpaceX and Tesla. He accused them of creating a “crypto pyramid”, a structure whose task is to artificially inflate the value of the Dogecoin cryptocurrency.
Johnson said he was ready to represent the interests of others who, like him, lost money in this pyramid scheme. The plaintiff demanded compensation in the amount of $258 billion, which he suffered from the purchase and sale of this cryptocurrency since 2019.
- Last December, Musk announced that some Tesla products would be sold for this Dogecoin. After that, the cost of cryptocurrency “jokingly” increased by 30%.
- In July, Elon Musk’s The Boring Company announced it would make it possible to pay for rides within the Loop transportation system using the billionaire’s favorite cryptocurrency, Dogecoin.
- Dogecoin’s value has dropped 70% in the last year, but the billionaire kept looking for ways to popularize it. At the time of publication of the material, the cryptocurrency costs 3.69 rubles.
