Netflix has announced its first mobile game. It is being developed in conjunction with an animated series. To that end, Netflix has teamed up with the makers of the popular card game Exploding Kittens.

A step in that direction is “You vs. Wild” is a survival series from Bear Grills where the viewer chooses which survival choices to make. Last year, Netflix announced that it was taking the next step towards a real mobile game that is now being introduced.

For the first mobile game, Netflix has teamed up with the makers of Exploding Kittens, the card game created by cartoonist Matthew Inman (The Oatmeal). This funny game dates back to 2015 and in general resembles the card game Zwarte Piet. In addition to the mobile game, a series about Exploding Kittens will also be published.

Netflix announced the new series and game in a blog post. Netflix subscribers can play the game without in-app purchases. Exploding Kittens can be played in both single player and multiplayer. The game will be released in May 2022. The animated series will come a year later.
