MSI home overclocking expert Kovan Yang has managed to boost the speed of a ddr5 module to over 10,000 MT/s. Specifically, it’s about a single 16GB lane of Kingston Fury Beast reaching 10,004 MT/s. The memory is paired with an MSI MEG Z690 Unify-X motherboard and Intel Core i9-12900KS.
It is unknown what voltage was set to achieve this speed.
These speeds are currently impractical as manufacturers are planning modules of 10 to 12 GT/s. To break the 10,000 MT/s limit for the first time, Yang used a single bar with a very loose delay (72-126-126-126-127-2). Additionally, only 2 cores and 2 threads of 12900KS are enabled to keep the system stable. In all likelihood, liquid nitrogen was also used.
