The average amount of transfers, which are sent mainly in rubles, increased by 40% during the year, Izvestia writes.

Since mid-June, customers have made more than 13 thousand transactions for 5.3 billion rubles, VTB reported. This is ten times more than the indicators in these areas for the same period in 2021, they emphasized there, adding that the bulk of the transfers fell to Belarus.

Experts see the reasons for the change in indicators in the relocation of some specialists abroad, support for relatives who live there and the expansion of the geography of acceptance of Mir cards. In addition, traffic through interbank transfer systems is also growing due to the disconnection of various credit organizations from SWIFT.

In September, sanctioned VTB restarted yuan transfers to China. They will bypass the SWIFT system. By 2023, the bank intends to increase the volume of such transactions fivefold.

According to Tinkoff Bank, in 2021 the proportion of trade payments in yuan to China was 15-25%, now it has reached 25-30% in terms of number of payments and 30-40% in terms of amount. Among the companies that use the yuan in the calculations, mainly importers.
