Wildberries no longer sign up new vendors for free; now, when creating a trading account, the market asks for the so-called “guarantee fee”, the amount of which is 10 thousand rubles.

Wildberries introduced paid registration for new sellers

What the record looks like now in Wildberries:

The Wildberries press service told RB.RU that the site “was forced to suspend the registration of new sellers in September due to a sharp increase in the number of fraudulent personal account registrations and a significant increase in the number of customer complaints”.

After that, the market decided to introduce additional identification of new sellers through online banking services, but “it did not show its effectiveness.” Wildberries claims that the scammers continued to register and confirm their profiles using false personal data.

“We were forced to disable the ability to identify through online services. At the moment, only the option to make a guarantee fee is available, it shows high efficiency, now the number of fraudulent registrations has been reduced to zero, ”said a representative of the company.

In a Telegram chat with sellers, Wildberries support explained that the payment would not be returned and that the money was not a deposit.

Later, Wildberries added that they are in dialogue with the sellers who have made guarantee payments for the identification and are considering their proposals to “decide together.” “It is now obvious to everyone that if the guarantee fee is returned immediately after registration, this will open a new ‘loophole’ for fraudsters and lead to a new wave of fraudulent registrations,” the press service added.
