Google will simplify the job of removing your personal data from the search service. A lot of personal information is used to identify users and improve the results offered, but it can be used by hackers and other criminals to do harm.

The company previously allowed search results such as home address, email address or phone number to be removed. This required finding a search result linked to confidential information and filling out a form with the URL to be removed.

How to remove personal data from Google results

The new tool allows the user to request data removal directly from the search page. When you encounter a result containing personal data, simply tap the three-dot button on the side and access the “About this result” panel. Next, select the “Remove Result” option and send the request to the search service.

The user can follow the information removal request and the status of the orders by accessing the “Result about you” screen from the profile picture in the Google application. According to information from the website 9to5GoogleIt will also be possible to request outdated or illegal information.

This action is taken only from the Google search service index. Pages remain online and can be accessed directly from their address. There is no information yet on when the new feature will come to devices.
