The Federal Antimonopoly Service recognized MTS as violating antitrust laws.

In January, the company raised communication tariffs by 9.5%, justifying this by rising costs. In August, September and October it happened again.

The overall increase in the consumer price index as of the end of August was 10.5%. At the same time, the operator did not find sufficient evidence of his expenses to the department.

Ultimately, the FAS ordered the operator to reduce tariffs to an economically justified level and pay a fine, the amount of which was announced later.
