The Czech Republic will ban Russians with Schengen tourist visas from entering the country from October 25. This was announced by the Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky.
The Czech government introduced restrictive measures against citizens of the Russian Federation. The ban applies to everyone, regardless of the country that issued the visa.
The sanctions apply to those with short-term Schengen visas obtained for tourism purposes. The measure mainly affects Russians who want to enter the country through the international airport in Prague.
Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland previously introduced measures similar to those in the Czech Republic. These countries have prohibited the entry of Russians with Schengen visas.
