You cannot buy Windows 10 or Windows 11 from these sites. And if the user enters the site and tries to make a purchase, a banner appears on the entire screen with the inscription “Windows is blocked for suspicious activity”.
Scammers often call a “support” phone number, intending to panic the user and make a hasty decision. In fact, the user is facing a psychological attack in which he is persuaded to provide his personal data or install potentially dangerous software.
“In the same message, the victim is asked to immediately contact technical support at the specified phone number to assist him. Also, this must be done within five minutes to avoid “complete computer failure”. In reality, attackers activate full-screen mode by displaying the banner, so the victim believes that the computer is indeed locked,” Kaspersky Lab said.
