From the University of Cannes-Normandy, Dr. 137 people participated in the study, led by Gael Chetela. All of them were divided into three groups. The first group (consisting of the French) had to meditate and study English for two hours every day.

Participants in the second group meditated at home for at least 20 minutes a day. The third group did not change anything in their lives.

At the end of the 18-month experiment, the meditating-only group showed better results in attention regulation and social-emotional ability.

Also, research adds that brain training focused on controlling stress and attention can improve the cognitive and emotional aspects of aging. Also, meditation can improve cognitive abilities, especially in the elderly. This application has a positive effect on attention, executive functions, self-awareness, reduces stress, anxiety and depression symptoms.

For this reason, meditation often reduces the likelihood of developing senile dementia.
