Yandex.Market will launch a special algorithm to detect excessively high prices on the site, the company’s press service reported.
The market said that such a move should protect conscientious sellers, their offerings will receive more views on the site’s storefront.
The algorithm will compare the price of the product with its cost in other markets. At the same time, there will be no restrictions on setting the final prices on the site, it is still set by the seller.
If the algorithm detects an unreasonable overpricing, the seller will be notified accordingly.
“We are talking only about those products for which sellers deliberately inflate prices on Yandex.Market, taking advantage of opportunities to promote them to a wide audience. We are not talking about setting a lower or upper price limit, we are talking about a fair attitude towards our customers, ”he explained in the market.
At the same time, it was difficult for the company to answer how significant a difference in the cost of a particular product needs to be for the algorithm to consider it unreasonably high.
Previously, the marketplace announced new platform features for sellers. In particular, Yandex.Market will allow all stores to sell used or discounted products. Also, the market announced the launch of a new service, with which the seller will be able to promote their products not only within the site, but throughout the Yandex advertising network.
