A Sao Paulo state court in Brazil has fined Apple $19 million for selling an iPhone without a charger.

Apple said in court that it removed the power adapter for the iPhone box to eliminate emissions. The court did not participate in this consideration.

Obviously, in justifying the “green initiative”, the defendant imposes on the consumer the mandatory purchase of charging adapters that were previously supplied with the product.

It says in the ruling

The company intends to appeal against the decision of the court.

Brazil’s Estadão added that Apple is distributing the iPhone with a power supply included, and is also giving away chargers to all Brazilians who purchased an iPhone after October 13, 2020.
