WhatsApp users finally started getting the update that releases the option to hide online status. Many people can already enable the function in the application menu.

The long-requested innovation has been tested by Meta’s software for at least 1 year. Last month, there was a hint that the tool would indeed come as Beta participants begin gaining access.

HE TecMundo tested the functionality on several different mobile phones and realized that those who want more privacy can now opt for the tool. Check out the photo gallery below showing how to use the new feature:

Although last Wednesday (12) released an update on the Play Store, WhatsApp does not mention hiding its online status in the descriptions of the news.

The informative text says after the update: only admins get notifications when someone leaves the group; that admins can delete messages posted by others and Reactions can be sent to Status posts and more.

Users celebrate

Many people took to Twitter to celebrate the possibility of being “camouflaged” while using the world’s most popular messenger. People even remembered that it would now be possible to leave many people in a loop, because not everyone would know if the other was online – whether they chose the function.
