FAZ writes about the beginning of the search for a buyer for the Volkswagen plant in Kaluga, citing sources.

One of the interlocutors noted that the probability of resuming production at the plant is decreasing. Another source reported a certain desire of Volkswagen to leave the Russian market. According to the newspaper, the company’s management considers that the sale of production in Russia is the only way out under current conditions.

Volkswagen stopped car production at its factories in Russia in March 2022 and also suspended the export of its products to the Russian Federation.

Earlier it became known about Hyundai’s possible plans to sell its plant in St. Petersburg. The Volvo Group and Nissan are considering the sale of their production facilities.
