With the announcement, Apple confirmed the impact of UK sanctions on App Store policy. At the same time, the company explained why the applications were returned to the store.

As noted, VK has not provided any evidence that the majority stake is not owned or controlled by an entity under sanctions. On the basis of sanctions against Gazprombank, which is part of the Gazprom holding, the main shareholder of VK Gazprom-media, restrictions were imposed on the company’s application. But VK managed to prove that it is not controlled by sanctioned organizations.

“After the app was removed, the developer provided all the necessary information confirming that the majority stake is not owned or controlled by an entity under sanctions. So the apps were restored to the App Store,” he said.
