The Japanese group of tire companies Bridgestone announced the search for buyers for the Russian business, according to a press release from the organization.
He says the group has started to consider transferring assets, citing general uncertainty and supply difficulties as the reason.
The company plans to find a local investor and exit the Russian market within a few months.
The press service recalled that the company has been operating in the country since 1998, among its assets there is a plant in the Ulyanovsk region and an office in Moscow. Today, about a thousand people work there.
The group announced the cessation of tire production in Russia in March 2022. At the same time, supplies and investments were limited. At the same time, Bridgestone promised to maintain the salaries of all employees.
Earlier it became known that the Finnish tire manufacturer Nokian Tires will sell Russian assets to the oil company Tatneft.
