Apple is using Qualcomm modems to run 5G on the iPhone 15, according to Bloomberg.

Qualcomm also confirmed this information, saying that it intends to produce the “vast majority” of modem chips for Apple devices.

It was expected that Apple will introduce its own modem next year, but the presentation will probably be postponed for sure. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple’s work on its own modem “failed.”

According to him, the development of the chip has stalled, but work is still ongoing. Apple still intends to move to its own modem, but its development will take longer than planned. [Bloomberg]
