Roskomnadzor will launch a system for tracking traffic on the Internet

It should be noted that the Center for Monitoring and Control of the Public Communications Network (CMU SSOP) will be involved in the creation of the system.

From the draft federal budget for 2023 and for the planning period of 2024 and 2025. It follows that 1.2 billion rubles will be spent on development within two years. In total, 37.7 billion rubles are provided for the activities of Roskomnadzor in 2023-2024.

The formation of the CMU SSOP is provided for within the framework of the amendments to the laws “On Communications” and “On Information”. According to them, Roskomnadzor must install special equipment to counter external threats (TSPU) in all networks. By 2020, such tools have been installed on the networks of 80% of operators.

As IT specialist Philip Kulik pointed out, after the launch of the CMU SSOP system, operators and providers that are not connected to the TSPU will stop working, since they will not be able to exchange data.
