There are several companies that over time have decided to rely more on their own strength when it comes to manufacturing devices, and also OPPO is ready to join. The giant has long been working to avoid relying too much on other companies when it comes to semiconductors, and has confirmed that it is ready to AP (application procedure) for the coming year.
Therefore, according to a report coming out of China, as resumed on the pages of Gizmochina, it seems likely that the company will launch its APs as early as 2023, with the mass production of the chips being favored by the 6nm process of TSMC As if that wasn’t enough, the colossus also seems to be working on it of their SoCs who will integrate their own process and a modem, in this case a little further away, given its supposed debut in the course of 2024, and ready to use TSMC’s 4nm process instead.
The company has already had a chance to launch its own NPU Mariana MariSilicon X, but it is not clear at this time what the exact plans of the company are for this operation. It would certainly be a source of pride and extremely useful for the giant to be able to independently supply all System on a Chip of its mobile devices, thus managing the cost and amount of chips produced in the best possible way to take advantage of the launch of new gems.
However, over the course of a few years or so, we’re likely to see results along these lines, even talking about how the company could use its devices only for mid-range devices, but fall back on the offerings of Qualcomm And MediaTek where better performance is required.
