According to the plaintiff, we are talking about the use of Boston Dynamics technologies, which were copied by a competitor and used in the Spirit 40 and Vision 60 models, which Ghost Robotics has used in its development, including stabilization and stair climbing systems. . It is also stated that the design of the Ghost Robotics robots is very similar to the “look” of Spot.

Plaintiff alleges that in July 2020, 5 months after the Spirit 40’s launch, a letter was sent to a competitor asking it to examine patents related to Spot robots. But there was no answer. Later, Boston Dynamics also appealed to Ghost Robotics to seek patents and stop the sale of robots with borrowed technology, but to no avail.

As a result, the manufacturer of the “robodog” filed a lawsuit against a competitor. Commenting on the lawsuit, Boston Dynamics said it welcomes competition but will not tolerate plagiarism regarding its developments.
