The Material You skin on the desktop version of Chrome behaves a little differently than it does on mobile. Interface uses browser’s new tab wallpaper tones instead of the desktop colors of the operating system.
How to enable Material You in Chrome Canary?
To enable Material You’re Looking at in Chrome Canary, user needs to enable interface in Experiments🇧🇷 To do this, simply paste the following address in the address bar of the browser: chrome://flags/#customize-chrome-color-extraction.
As it is in the testing phase, design does not allow switching between custom themes🇧🇷 You must disable the option to choose colors for the address bar and tabs, otherwise browser wallpaper tones will be used instead.
Recommendation to enable the Comprehensive Theme feature for those who want to expand the personalized experience (chrome://flags/#ntp-comprehensive-theming). The tool adds more colorful elements to the new tab, search bar, and visited site cards.
