NordPass, a company specializing in digital security, has published a list of the most used passwords in the world in 2021. Typical weak passwords like 123456 remain among the most popular, but this time the Samsung brand is in the top 100.

With a lowercase “s”, Samsung was ranked 78th in the list of the 200 most used passwords worldwide. That’s a sizable settlement, especially given the number of locations this password has climbed over the years. “Samsung”, which was ranked 198th in the 2019 rankings, rose to 189th place in 2020, making an impressive jump to 78th place last year. The world’s most popular password is still “password”.

according to the information SamMobile, “samsung” is a popular password in at least 30 countries around the world. The official NordPass ranking shows that Brazil is among these regions, placing the brand 179th in the ranking. Much lower than the world position, but still in the top 200.

Brazil’s passwords

In the ranking made for our country, the most used password is 123456, and it is in the first place even from the others. In the second position we have the word Brazil. According to NordPass, these two passwords can be cracked by a special program in less than a second – like the equally weak “samsung” password.

Also noteworthy in the ranking is the Brazilian tradition of coining names. Gabriel ranks 17th among the most used passwords, and there are several other names that appear from position 30. Team names were also popular, with “flamengo” appearing in the front 19th.
