The Russian health food chain VkusVill has started a test sales of its products in China. This was reported by the press service of the company.

VkusVill began to explore the Chinese market

They reported that at the end of November, the collected tasting sets of 35 items became available to Chinese residents. You can order such kits on the Tmall Global marketplace, with which VkusVill has entered into cooperation. The online store was opened under the localized brand “微谷食优”, which can be translated as “Delicious, healthy here and now”. The first buyers have already received products from national brands.

Food packages consist of bread, fruit and vegetable chips, nut mixes, beverages, canned goods, bran, and candy. Also, VkusVill is ready to offer natural ice cream, which is produced in China by the chain’s partner Icecake-ECO.

“To enter the market, we chose the cross-border model, where the order is shipped from a customs warehouse in China and the last mile delivery takes 1-3 days typical for a Chinese buyer. This format is clearly associated by consumers with imported products and allows the range of exports to be expanded through simplified certification,” explains Andrey Tuzhikov, a specialist in exports to China.

To receive customer feedback, the brand opened an account on the Chinese social network WeChat. Users can leave comments and also read about the rules of healthy eating.

Previously, VkusVill announced plans to develop the sale of coffee in Russia.

In 2022, the volume of trade between Russia and China set a new record, increasing by 33%. In the first 10 months, it grew to $153.9 billion.
