A global analysis of more than 32 million deaths from cardiovascular disease over 40 years found that there were more deaths on days with the hottest or coldest temperatures than on days with milder weather.

Overall, for every 1,000 cardiovascular deaths, the researchers:

  • extremely hot days (above 30°C) caused 2.2 additional deaths;
  • extremely cold days (below -6.5°C) were responsible for 9.1 additional deaths.

The USA was about Baltimore.
