Russian entrepreneurs launch alcohol delivery service with AI recommendations in London

Yes! became the first online platform in the UK to sell and deliver alcohol based on personal recommendations. Currently, more than 1.5 thousand varieties of craft beer and wine from local producers are available.

You can place an order for delivery or pickup via a mobile app or in an offline store using a touch screen and have it delivered within a minute.

Machine learning algorithms analyze user preferences and offer each customer personalized recommendations for specific beers and wines. By creating a “taste profile” of the user, the app solves the choice problem that arises with unknown brands.

Artificial intelligence is also responsible for replenishing the assortment based on the preferences of customers in a certain area. This helps avoid competition for large storage areas and reduces shipping costs for customers.

Yes! focuses on working with small producers. The company buys 70% of the products directly from brewers and winemakers under exclusive contracts, the rest from distribution partners. Now the service has more than 100 contracts with brewers and several contracts with beer and wine distributors in Europe.

In addition, specializing in alcohol gives the project a high product margin compared to other fast food delivery services, where beer and wine are only part of the offer. Margin Yes! it is up to 35-45% instead of 15-20% of competitors (due to alcohol-only specialization and multi-format delivery).

The founders invested in Yep! £350,000 of own funds and are preparing to raise a £1.5m seed round. The money will be used to open three new London locations and a distribution center, as well as strengthen the development and marketing team. In the future Yes! it plans to open another 40 pick-up stores and enter the German market.

  • Aleksey Lukyanets is a serial entrepreneur with 15 years of experience, his previous projects include the “Another Couple” chain of modern craft beer retailers with an annual turnover of more than $5 million.
