The Russian peering point operator Piter-IX will increase the subscription fee for its services in 2024. The company’s services are used by more than 400 organizations, writes Kommersant.
The most expensive tariff, including the subscription fee for a port with a capacity of 100 Gbit/s, is 500 thousand rubles (an increase of 67%), while the cost of passing 1 Mbit/s with full use of the bandwidth band is 5 rubles (previously 3 rubles), follows from the new sertki tariff.
The company explained the increase as follows: the currency is becoming more expensive, while foreign channels are paid in euros, loan rates are increasing, equipment placement is becoming more expensive, and employees’ salaries must also get indexed.
Previously, Rostelecom announced that it would increase tariffs for operators. At the beginning of 2024, prices for the services of the Russian television company to its competitors may increase by up to 10%.
