SberMarket began delivering products on reindeer, the first order was received by customers from the Sami village in the Murmansk region, the company’s press service said.
From December 15 to January 8, residents of Sami settlements and guests who came to the region for the holidays will be able to use free delivery from the Lenta hypermarket. Orders will be delivered within two hours from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 18:00 to 20:00. Service couriers deliver products on reindeer herds at a speed of 70 km/h.
According to Vladimir Kamionko, director of operations of SberMarket, many Russians actively travel during the holiday period, including to remote corners of the country.
“These places with impressive winter landscapes, atmosphere and culture attract more and more tourists. We launched free delivery of products from the Lenta hypermarket for them. Now guests from the isolated region will be able to touch the atmosphere of Saami culture in their homeland and order products for the winter festival,” Kamionko said.
Earlier, SberMarket talked about plans to launch its own food delivery service from restaurants and cafes.
