Synchron, which discovers an implantable brain chip, has raised $75 million in investments, including from Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, Bloomberg writes.

Bezos invested through his company Bezos Expeditions, and Gates through Gates Frontier.

Synchron creates a Switch computer that can be implanted in the human brain. This was supposed to bypass the paralyzed patients. Worldwide, there are about 100 million people suffering from this disease.

For example, Switch can help people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis control a smart computer cursor with.

Synchron is a direct competitor to Elon Musk’s Neuralink. In the development of implantable chips, Synchron has moved further than Neuralink.

The company has already microchipped patients live and will conduct tests during the year under the supervision of doctors. [Bloomberg]
