Kyrgyz banks began to refuse the service of Russian Mir cards

Since October 17, Kyrgyz Bakai Bank and Doskredobank have suspended work with cards of the Mir national payment system, writes 24.kg. Earlier, Kompanion Bank also entered – on its block list there are 21 Russian banks, whose cards were no longer served.

Banks from Uzbekistan, two banks from Turkey, a bank from Kazakhstan and a bank from Vietnam have already suspended work with cards of the Mir system.

The organizations took such steps following the US Treasury statement on restrictions that could be introduced against banks that help circumvent anti-Russian sanctions, i.e. cooperate with the National Payment Card System, the operator of the Mir system.
