The service for accepting Russian and foreign payments Platim closed the third round of investments for 23.4 million rubles. The startup’s valuation after the deal was $2.55 million, Platim’s press service told RB.RU.

The Platim payment service raised 23.4 million rubles from the top manager of Blanc Bank and the founder of KudaGo

The company was founded in April 2021 and launched as a mass payment service for freelancers, but in 2022 Platim announced a business model change and began developing its fintech solutions. Now the project is positioning itself as a service for accepting Russian and foreign payments with its own marketplace for promoting and selling products.

“After a successful turn to the payment service, we have developed a next generation product. At the beta testing stage, a new investor came to us and bought 12% of the company’s shares for 21.6 million rubles. Investments will go towards further development and scaling,” Platim founder Leonid Rumyantsev said.

Elena Kuligina, one of the CEOs of Blanc Bank and former CEO of Modulbank, became a new investor. In addition, the current investor, the founder of KudaGo, Alexander Prokofiev, who invested 1.8 million rubles (he now owns 17% of the company), also increased his share.

Kuligina will also assume the role of CEO of Platim. The company believes that a new investor’s banking experience will help in management and scaling.

The team is now finalizing product testing ahead of the official launch and market release. The Platim website states that there is a 2.9% fee for accepting payments. Also, through the service, you can buy installments up to 300 thousand rubles and set up an online box for free.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities as of April 5, 2022, Platim LLC is 56% owned by founder Leonid Rumyantsev, 23% by Alexey Mishurovsky, 16% by KudaGo founder Alexander Prokofiev, and 5% by Nail Abdullin.
